Ricky Stuart AM - Congratulations by Allan Hawke and the Raiders
As Chairman of the Canberra Raiders Board, and on behalf of our staff, players and the wider Raiders Group, we congratulate our coach on becoming a Member of the Order of Australia in today’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Ricky has been bestowed this honour in recognition of his significant service to rugby league and the community.
Born and brought up in Queanbeyan and schooled at St Edmund’s College Canberra, Ricky is one of some 50 elite players who have represented Australia in the Wallabies and the Kangaroos, alongside such legends Dally Messenger and Arthur Summons.
He is the recipient of many rugby league accolades as a player, international and State representative and following his retirement as a player as a coach. He was inducted in Rugby League’s Hall of Fame in 2018.
Ricky’s community participation is widespread and greatly appreciated throughout the broader Canberra region and beyond.
He and his wife Kaylie have made a very significant contribution through their Foundation to autism which their daughter Emma has. They have raised autism awareness, supported children and families associated with the development disorder and constructed purpose-built state of the art respite facilities for children, teenagers and young adults.
I’m sure Ricky’s AM will be welcomed and well received by the Green Machine, our Raiders sponsors, members and supporters and the Canberra region community.
