Katrina Fanning Shield Round 14 Wrap

Big wins to the Stars, Magpies and Bushrangers in round 14 of the Specsavers Katrina Fanning Shield.

Yass Magpies 24 d Queanbeyan Blues 6

The Yass Magpies recorded their fourth straight win with an 18 point victory over the Queanbeyan Blues at Walker Park on Saturday.

It was an important win for the Yass side, who remain equal on points with the Goulburn City Bulldogs on top of the ladder.

Yass were first on the scoreboard, with fullback Lucy Prosser scoring a try in the third minute. Hooker Shannon Wright converted to give her side a 6-0 lead.

The Blues leveled things up just four minutes later through their halfback Taylor Galjaardt, who pounced on a Payge-Louise Condon kick for a try.

But from there it was all Yass, with the home side scoring four unanswered tries. Prosser scored her second of the day, while Kirsty Hansen, Shannon Wright and Samara Afele all scored four-pointers too.
