CRRL Minor Premiers & Club Championships announced

With the unfortunate cancellation of the end of the rugby league season for the senior and junior competitions before the finals series, the CRRL committee considered how to officially recognise the conclusion of the competitions from Under 10s through to Canberra Raiders Cup First Grade.

The cancellation occurred before the end of the regular season and the committee advised that if the finals series was to proceed it would be on the basis of the top four at the date of cancellation. Subsequently, the whole season was then cancelled.

The CRRL committee, after consideration, has unanimously decided to award the minor premiership only to all teams that were leading their respective competitions at the time of the shutdown.

Teams that were equal on points or percentage (applicable to juniors) are deemed joint minor premiers. There will be no medals awarded for the minor premierships.

The Canberra Raiders Cup and George Tooke Club Championships will be awarded on the basis of the points accrued to the date of shutdown.

Congratulations to the Gungahlin Bulls and Harden Hawks clubs, who have been awarded the Club Championship in their respective competitions

For the senior competitions, the McIntyre Medal and associated awards will be presented once the developing situation is clearer. This could be via a scaled down awards ceremony in person or a virtual event.

Once again thank you for your outstanding efforts during this extraordinary season and for your contribution to seeing record participation in the Canberra Region Rugby League.

A truly remarkable feat considering the hurdles we have all had to face in the last two seasons.
