Junior Reps Round Two Preview

The Canberra Raiders junior representative teams are back at Raiders Belconnen this weekend for Round Two of their respective seasons.

The Raiders will meet the Dragons in all three divisions, starting with the Tarsha Gale Cup match at 11am.

The side will be looking to bounce back from their Round One loss against the Illawarra Steelers when they face the Dragons.

Coach Josh Hardy says the side took a lot out of their first game of the season.

“Illawarra have been the powerhouse of the competition since it’s initial inception so there were lots of positives to take out of it," Hardy said.

“We’re sitting at about 11 girls returning from last year and the rest are all year-young players so we’ve got a good mix of experience and youth, the squad is gelling very well and looking forward to a good year.”

The Dragons match will be another tough encounter, but Hardy and his team are looking forward to the challenge.

“They are the defending premiers so it’ll be another hard battle but hopefully we improve on last week’s result, minimise our errors and we’ll come away with a better result than last week.”
