The open men's Monaro Colts side have sadly gone down 18-4 to Illawarra South Coast Dragons in Saturday afternoon's semi final.
The Colts only managed to score one try in Saturday's final, when Goulburn City Bulldogs representative backrower Ron Leapai crossed the line in the first half.
Monaro were on track for another Country Championship's grand final appearance after defeating Illawarra 18-16 in last year's grand final.
It was a gallant effort by the Monaro side who will now all be available for their respective clubs for round one of the Canberra Raider's Cup this weekend.
