Monaro & Junior Raiders representing NSW Country in exhibition matches this weekend

The NSW Country side will line-up with a number of Monaro Colts representatives in their exhibition match against NSW City at 2pm this Sunday 15 May at Leichardt Oval.

After a four year absence, NSWRL have announced the return of the Country v City exhibition matches to the representative calendar. This is a great opportunity for some of our CRRL players to be selected to represent NSW Country and play at a higher level.

The NSW Men’s Country team is made up of players from the Men's Country Championships, where recently appointed head coach Terry Campese will take charge of the side after captain-coaching the Monaro Colts to the Men's Country Championship grand final victory in 2021.

The following Monaro Colts representatives were selected for NSW Country:

Ron Leapai (Goulburn City Bulldogs)

Darby Medlyn (Tuggeranong Bushrangers)

Zac Saddler (Tuggeranong Bushrangers)

Bradley Prior (Woden Valley Rams)

Dillon Rota (Goulburn City Bulldogs)

The Monaro Colts will be represented in the u16's Country v City match as well at 10:30am Saturday 14 May at 4 Pines Park.

This squad was selected from the SLE Andrew Johns Cup competition earlier this year where the Monaro Colts finished sixth.

The following Monaro Colts representatives were selected for u16's NSW Country:

Archie Duncombe (Goulburn Stockmen)

Harry Hudson (Belconnen United Sharks)

The Canberra Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup side will also be represented earlier next month at the NRL National Championships from the 8th – 12th June.

The three junior Raiders selected will line-up for the NSW Country under 19's in their match against NSW City.

The following Canberra Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup representatives were selected for u19's NSW Country women's:

Alanna Dummet

Kayla Fleming

Maata Alaki Lokeni

This is an excellent achievement for Alana, Kayla and Maata, who will have their opportunity to play at the representative level for NSW Country.

We wish all of the Monaro Colts players the best of luck this weekend in their respective matches.
