Senior Competitions: Finals Format

Here's everything you need to know about the finals format for each senior competition in the Canberra Region Rugby League.

Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup

First Grade, Reserve Grade & Ladies League Tag

These competitions are a four team finals format which will commence on Saturday 3rd September. The higher seeded team will host their respective finals match.

The lower grades will play at the venue of each aligned first grade finals match.

Saturday 27 August: Round 18 (final round)

Saturday 3 September: Minor Semi Final (3 v 4)

Sunday 4 September: Major Semi Final (1 v 2) 

Sunday 11 September: Preliminary Final (major semi loser v minor semi winner) at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval.

Sunday 18 September: Grand Final (major semi winner v prelim winner) at Seiffert Oval.

George Tooke Shield

These competitions are a five team finals format which will commence on Saturday 13 August.

The higher seeded team will host their respective finals match. The winner of the major semi final will host all four grades for the Grand Final.

Open Men's and Ladies League Tag

Saturday 6 August: Round 15 (final round)

Saturday 13 August: Qualifying Final (2 v 3)

Saturday 13 August: Elimination Final (4 v 5)

Saturday 20 August: Major Semi-Final (1 v qualifier winner)

Saturday 20 August: Minor Semi-Final (qualifier loser v elimination winner)

Saturday 27 August: Preliminary Final (major semi loser v minor semi winner) at major semi final loser's home ground.

Saturday 3 September: Grand Final (major semi winner v prelim winner) at major semi-final winner's home ground.

Under 19's

The Under 19's competition will operate as two separate finals series, a top four and bottom four format for the 2022 season. The top four will align with the Canberra Raiders Cup finals series and the bottom four will align with the George Tooke Shield finals series.

The venue for each finals game will align with the respected top-grade side.

Top Four

Saturday 13 August: Round 14 (final round)

Saturday 20 August: Bye Round

Saturday 27 August: Bye Round 

Saturday 3 September: Minor Semi Final (3 v 4)

Sunday 4 September: Major Semi Final (1 v 2)

Bottom Four

Katrina Fanning Shield

The Katrina Fanning Shield competition will operate as two separate finals series, a top five and bottom four format for the 2022 season.

The top five will align with the Canberra Raiders Cup finals series and the bottom four will align with the George Tooke Shield finals series.

The venue for each finals game will align with the respected top-grade side.
