NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Round 24 Preview

The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams are both in action at GIO Stadium Canberra on Saturday in the final round of the regular season.

The Raiders NSW Cup side currently sit in sixth spot on the ladder, just one point behind the fifth placed Parramatta Eels.

The Raiders take on the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles this weekend and will need to win the match, as well as have the Eels lose to the Knights, to finish in the top five and make finals.

Canberra are coming off the back of a strong 26-12 win over the Knights last round, which kept them in the race for finals.

Forward Josh Allen starred off the bench, scoring a try and notching up 147 run metres, one line break, one line break assist, one try assist and 24 tackles in 50 minutes.

Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was also very dangerous for the team, scoring a try, running for 170 metres and recording six tackle breaks.

Just the one change to the side from last week, with Albert Hopoate named in the centres. He replaces James Schiller, who has been named in the NRL extended squad.

Meanwhile the Sea Eagles are currently on the bottom of the ladder and are coming off the back of a 50-8 loss to the Jets so will be keen to bounce back in their final game of the season.

The two sides met back in round four, with the Raiders winning that game 26-18.

Meanwhile the Raiders Jersey Flegg team take on the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in their final game of the season this Saturday.

With the Raiders sitting in eighth position they are unable to finish in the top five, so will want to end their season on a high with a win this weekend.

The side is coming off the back of a 32-30 loss to the Knights, with Manase Kaho scoring a double in the match. The fullback has scored four tries in two games and will look to add to his try scoring tally this weekend.

There are a few changes to the Flegg side ahead of the game, with Jed Stuart coming into the centres and Josh Billing moving to the second row.

Sione Moala returns as hooker, while Kaden Williams has been named the other second rower. Caleb Tohi and Tane Kiriona drop back to the bench.

The Raiders take on the Sea Eagles, who snapped a three game losing streak with a 50-22 win over the Sharks last round.

The two sides met back in round four, with the Raiders recording a 28-24 win.
