The Katrina Fanning Shield is coming toward the business end of the competition where the top four each play off in semi-finals this weekend. Meanwhile, South Coast United will take on the Harden Worhawks in the division two grand final on Saturday afternoon.

Yass Magpies v Goulburn City Bulldogs, Raiders Belconnen, 12pm Sunday 4th September

After an undefeated regular season, the Yass Magpies are now just one victory away from a grand final birth.

In their way sit the Goulburn City Bulldogs, who after finishing third on the ladder, defeated Woden last weekend to secure a place in the major semi-final.

The two sides have faced off twice this season, with Yass taking out their round one and ten clashes.

Their first match of the year was one of the closest games of the Magpies season, with Yass coming out 30-18 winners at Walker Park.

That match would be one of only three games where Yass would concede, with their incredible attack complimented by a strong defence.

Their second game of the season would see the Magpies run out 20-nil victors, with the team not looking back on their way to a minor premiership.

Since that round ten defeat, the Bulldogs have found the form to challenge Yass, defeating Woden twice and the Blues once in extremely close contests.

This weekend will be the challenge that they are craving, looking to hand the Magpies their first defeat of the season.

With a grand final place on the line, both sides will be ready to go come this Sunday.

Woden Valley Rams v Queanbeyan Blues, Greenway Oval, 12pm Saturday 3rd September

After their comfortable win over the Tuggeranong Bushrangers last weekend, the Queanbeyan Blues face the Woden Valley Rams in the elimination final.

With the winner moving on and the loser going home, the stakes are extremely high for both sides as they look to continue on in the competition.

While they finished fourth on the ladder, the Blues have not gone down by more than six points all season.

They have only played the Rams once in 2022, falling 22-16 at GIO Stadium in the Women's State of Origin curtain raiser.

Off the back of their big win last weekend, they appeared primed to defeat a fellow top four side for the first time this season, with there being no better time to do it.

Woden will instead be looking to put last weekend’s loss against Goulburn out of their mind, will all eyes now on Queanbeyan.

The side have been the real deal this year, finishing second on the ladder in their debut season in the KFS.

They have at times also struggled to defeat the best sides in the competition, however, they have proven throughout 2022 that they have the capability to compete with the very best.

With elimination on the line, expect both sides to leave everything out there this weekend, looking to keep their Katrina Fanning Shield dreams alive.

South Coast United v Harden Worhawks, Mick Sherd Oval, 12pm Saturday 3rd September

The division two finals series comes to an end this weekend, with South Coast United set to face the Harden Worhawks in the final.

In their first season in the competition, South Coast have impressed, proving they can compete with the top sides in the Katrina Fanning Shield throughout their inaugural season.

Their path to the division two final saw them hand the UC Stars a 32-2 loss, securing their spot.

The Worhawks have instead had to go the long way to make the final, needing to defeat both Boomanulla and UC to secure a spot.

24-0 and 42-4 victories respectively has brought them some strong momentum into this weekend's match.

The sides have played just once this season, with South Coast securing a 22-10 victory in round four. Since then, both teams have improved dramatically with this weekend's match shaping up to be a brilliant conclusion to their finals series.
