Path to NRLW open for aspiring young Raiders

The Canberra Raiders have opened a genuine pathway to the NRLW, with the club's Tarsha Gale Cup trials open now for all participants to register.

The 2023 Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup program will be the prime avenue for aspiring young women’s players to get in the spotlight and push for a position in the Raiders inaugural NRLW squad in 2023.

The club is opening their Tarsha Gale Cup trials to all female players aged between 18-19 (in 2023) and will be focussing on athletic ability and NRLW ambition as they look to build the squad.

The Raiders are looking to cast the recruitment net far and wide for this amazing opportunity and players and athletes from outside the Canberra region are encouraged and welcomed to trial, as the Raiders look to build their squads for what will be an historic season in 2023.

Raiders Pathways and Performance Manager Dean Souter said the Raiders were looking for the best of the best to trial with the club for the 2023 Tarsha Gale Cup, with the 2023 season the perfect audition for the Raider's maiden NRLW season.

“The Raiders are a proud development club, and we want to see the best athletes and players put their name forward to be part of what will be a massive season for women’s rugby league in Canberra,” Souter said. “The Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup program is the perfect opportunity for aspiring NRLW players to come to our club and have genuine opportunity and pathway into the game’s elite level competition.”

“We’re taking this year's Tarsha Gale trials to the next level and asking players and athletes from all over the country to trial and hopefully play in this squad, with a view to progressing into our NRLW program.”

The trials will be held at Raiders Belconnen in Holt on Friday, September 23.
