The Raiders have received a boost ahead of their finals match this weekend, with rising star Matt Timoko signing a new deal with the club until the end of the 2025 season.

Timoko is currently on contract with the club until the end of 2024, but the Raiders have moved to extend his deal until 2025 as they continue their push to secure their young talent long-term.

It’s been a breakout season for Timoko in 2022, with the tackle busting centre playing in all the Raiders regular season fixtures scoring eight tries. His high energy and work rate has been a huge positive for the Raiders this year and he’s fast establishing himself a quality NRL player.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the re-signing of Timoko added to the clubs list of players secured long-term and the squad continued to remain intact for the future.

“Matt’s another great example of a young player who made the move to the Raiders at a young age and has taken his opportunity at NRL level,” Furner said. “He has been one of the big improvers in the team this year and has played in all the Raiders NRL matches so far this season.

“We’re thrilled to have Matt secured until the end of the 2025 season and he joins a number of our next generation of players who have also re-signed with the club.”
