2022 Season Review: Locks

The Raiders used five players in the lock position throughout the 2022 season, with Adam Elliott, Elliott Whitehead, Corey Harawira-Naera, Ryan Sutton and Corey Horsburgh all spending time there.

Adam Elliott joined the Raiders this season and was a valuable member of the team, playing 24 games throughout the year. He started at lock on 14 occasions, providing strong defence and plenty of energy.

The first six games of the season saw Elliott come off the interchange bench, before he got a spot in the starting team as lock in round seven against the Panthers.

Showing his versatility, Elliott moved to the hooker role in rounds eight and nine, before returning to the lock position in round 11, where he played 13 of the last 15 games of the season.

In attack, Elliott scored two tries and recorded 21 offloads, 55 tackle breaks, three line breaks and had 2431 total running metres, while defensively he made 647 tackles at a 93.4% tackle efficiency.

The 27-year-old is leaving the Raiders to join the Newcastle Knights in 2023.
