Junior Reps Wrap: Round Five

The Raiders SG Ball side recorded their fifth win in a row on Saturday at Raiders Belconnen against the Paramatta Eels, while both the Harold Matthews and Tarsha Gale sides were defeated.

The Raiders came away with a dominant 42-18 win over the Eels on Saturday, as they continue to sit in first place after round five.

The Raiders started well with centre Jacob Iosefa crossing over the line first, with Keahn Skipps converting to give the Raiders an early 6-0 lead.

The Eels were quick to turn the tables, scoring back to back tries to take a 12-6 lead in the 19th minute.

Jalen Afamasaga and Chevy Stewart helped the Raiders bounce back as they both scored tries before the break, giving the Raiders a 18-12 lead with Skipps converting both.

After the break the Eels would only go on to score one more try, as the Raiders ran in a whopping five more tries, with Stewart scoring a hattrick to complete a convincing 42-18 victory.

The Raiders remain undefeated and will be looking to make it six wins in a row ahead of their clash against the Bears at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday March 12th.

NSWRL TV Highlights | UNE Harold Matthews Cup - Round Five

The Raiders Harold Matthews side had their first loss of the season on Saturday, going down to the Paramatta Eels 24-6.

The Eels set the tone early, scoring their first try in the fourth minute, with Farrugia converting to give them a 6-0 lead.

The Raiders were quick to reply, with prop Andrew Muir burrowing over to put the Raiders first points on the board, with Darmody making the conversion to level the score at 6-6 in the 10th  minute.

The Eels proved too good on the day, running in another three tries to cap off a 24-6 victory over the Raiders.

The Raiders will regroup this week, having the bye for round six. The side will look to turn this around when they return to face off with the Sharks at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday March 18th.

NSWRL TV Highlights | Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup - Round Five

The Raiders Tarsha Gale side recorded their second defeat of the season, going down to the Paramatta Eels 26-12.

The Eels started the game strong, running in back to back tries giving them a 12-0  lead by the 14th minute.

Raiders centre Lara Cosgrove tried to turn things around, making a linebreak to score the Raiders first try of the game in the 15th minute.

The Raiders side defended their errors well, but the Eels scored again after half time to further their lead to 16-4.

The Raiders took advantage of an Eels error, as Georgia Willey scored the Raiders second try in the 40th minute.

The Eels would go on to score two more times, with the Raiders unfortunately finding their feet too late, as Beyonce Marela scored for the Raiders in the 59th minute, settling the score at 26-12 at fulltime.

The Raiders will have the home ground advantage over the Bears next game on Sunday March 12th at Raiders Belconnen.
