Junior Reps Preview Round Seven

All three junior representative sides will play their last game of the regular season at Raiders Belconnen this week, with the SG Ball side remaining undefeated, while the Harold Matthews and Tarsha Gale sides are looking to finish the season off strong.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Harold Matthews side will look to continue a strong start to their season and bounce back from their first defeat ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Sharks.

The Raiders side has had a great start to their season, with coach Rourke O’Sullivan saying the team have put themselves in a great position heading into the back-end of the season.

The Raiders will be returning from a bye this week, with O’Sullivan saying his side is well rested and have regrouped and prepared well for the Sharks.

“We’ve found some things in our game that we want to improve on, and the bye has given us a couple weeks to allow us to rest and hopefully improve for the Sharks come this weekend."

O’Sullivan says the Sharks are a well-rounded side across the park, but he is confident his side can get the job done.

“They’re a pretty strong side, and have some strong middles and elusive outside backs as well, and we are prepared for anything they throw at us, and I think the boys are ready and looking forward to the challenge."

O’Sullivan has not made any changes to his side ahead of this weekend’s game, placing faith in his team as they have dominated the season so far, praising his side's spine and middle.

Halfback Jonah Anderson has been a stand out for O’Sullivan, leading the side as captain and taking full responsibility in his leadership role. Fullback James Croker has also been reliable and versatile, and five-eighth Braydan Darmody has been another standout.

O’Sullivan says his side is looking forward to playing their last game of the regular season at Raiders Belconnen, and hope to get the win in front of their home crowd.

Kick off is at 1:30pm Saturday 18th of March at Raiders Belconnen.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup side will be looking to get their third win of the season this weekend when they take on the Sharks at Raiders Belconnen.

The Raiders currently sit one position above the Sharks on the ladder, as the two sides will be battling it out for seventh spot this Saturday.

This is a must win game for the Raiders, as they aim to edge their way into sixth position in order to make finals.

The Raiders had a 16-all draw last weekend against the Bears after being up 16-4 at halftime.

The side will aim to not be complacent ahead of this weekend’s clash against the Sharks and keep their foot on the gas for the entire match.

Coach Josh Hardy has made two changes to his sides line-up, with Elli Beecham named in the centres, and Maddison Morris named as an interchange.
