Raiders ready for Wagga Wagga return

The Canberra Raiders have commenced the countdown to their round nine match against the Dolphins at McDonald’s Park in Wagga Wagga, with Nick Cotric and Elijah Anderson spending some time in the city this morning to help promote the upcoming fixture.

The Raiders take on the NRL’s newest franchise the Dolphins on Saturday April 29 at McDonald’s Park in Wagga Wagga, with a rivalry already building between the two teams following their clash in Redcliffe earlier this season.

Ticket sales for the match have already reached 2,000, with the Raiders encouraging everyone to pre-purchase their tickets now to ensure they secure a place at the game.

The Green Machine will roll into town on Thursday prior to the match, with a fan meet and greet to take place in the city from 5.00pm on April 27. Further details on the event will be released in the coming weeks. Fans are encouraged to come along, meet the team and secure some Raiders merchandise or a 2023 Raiders membership.

Speaking today from McDonald’s Park in Wagga Wagga, Nick Cotric said the opportunity to head out to Wagga Wagga again was exciting for the team and they looked forward to returning to McDonald’s Park in a few weeks’ time.

“We love getting out to the regional areas and supporting rugby league, and the matches in Wagga Wagga have always been ones we’ve looked forward to as a playing group” Cotric said. “It’s also great news that we’re able to spend some time meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for photos on Thursday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s game.”

Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout encourages residents of Wagga Wagga and the surrounding region to take advantage of the opportunity to see the NRL stars during their visit to the city.

“This will be the fourth time in the past five years the Raiders have played a home game here, reflecting the strong partnership forged between the club and the city,” Cr Tout said.

“Whether you’re a die-hard Green Machine fan, a Dolphins supporter or just love the game of Rugby League, we would love to see you come along to McDonald’s Park on 29 April and show your support for having these big sporting events in our city.”
