NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Round 7 Preview

It's round seven action this weekend with the Raiders NSW Cup side playing in the curtain raiser at GIO Stadium Canberra this Sunday while the Flegg side take on the Sea Eagles at Seiffert Oval on Saturday.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side take on the St George Illawarra Dragons this Sunday before the NRL game at GIO Stadium Canberra.

After a disappointing 26-0 loss to the Roosters last round, the Raiders will look to re-focus and put things right this weekend in front of a home crowd.

The Raiders currently sit in 10th spot on the ladder but are equal on points with the seventh placed Magpies, so a win this weekend could see them jump the ladder.

There are a number of big inclusions this week, with Xavier Savage named on the wing in his first footy game since suffering a broken jaw in the Raiders first trial match in February.

James Schiller returns to the side as centre, replacing Harley Smith-Shields. Brad Schneider has been named at five-eighth, after playing in the NRL team last week against the Broncos.

Peter Hola also comes back into the side at prop, with Josh Allen dropping back to the bench.

The Dragons currently sit in 11th spot on the ladder, just one point behind the Raiders. They recorded their first win of the season last weekend against the Bears, with centre Max Feagai scoring a double in the 26-12 win.

Kick off for the round seven clash is at 11:30am on Sunday April 16 at GIO Stadium Canberra, with the Raiders v Dragons NRL match to follow at 2pm.

Jersey Flegg

The Raiders Jersey Flegg side take on the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan on Saturday as they too look to bounce back from last week.

The Raiders side suffered a tough 26-8 loss to the Storm last weekend, with Regan Carr and Kaden Williams both scoring first half tries.

The green machine unfortunately sit on the bottom of the ladder, equal on points with this week's opponents the Sea Eagles.

A few changes to the Raiders outfit ahead of this weekend's clash. Peyton Jenkins moves to fullback, with Jack Sandford shifting to the wing.

Ethan Strange returns to five-eighth after playing NSW Cup last week. Tane Kiriona has been named at prop, with Jermaine Pangai dropping to the interchange.

Joshua Pokoney is the new face on the bench.

Meanwhile the Manly side are one win from six games to start the season so will be wanting to claim two points against the Raiders.

Kick off for the clash is at 2pm on Saturday April 15 at Seiffert Oval Queanbeyan.
