
The Toyota Forklift Raiders have defeated the Bulldogs 34-30 in a high scoring affair at Suncorp Stadium for Magic Round.
Jarrod Croker and Jordan Rapana were the key men in the Raiders win with Rapana scoring a double and Croker scoring a critical try in the game.
The Raiders came out with a fire in their belly scoring in the first set of the game with a try on the wing for Jordan Rapana which was then followed with a conversion from Jarrod Croker leaving the Raiders in front 6-0 in the first two minutes.
Five minutes into the game the Bulldogs only held four percent possession.
The Bulldogs were quick to answer off the back of a 40-20 from Reed Mahoney, the Bulldogs scoring in the 10th minute with Jacob Preston making the scores even.
But the Raiders were quick to make sure they were back in front with a try on the wing to Xavier Savage in the 16th minute.
The Raiders tries did not stop there and just three minutes later Matt Timoko scored off the back of a scrum.
Hudson Young wanted to be involved in the tries for the game, scoring three minutes after Timoko which brought the score out to 22-6.
Jacob Preston scored in the 26th minute for a double putting the Bulldogs back in the game.
The Bulldogs scored again in the 32nd minute with a try from Jake Averillo and a conversion from Matt Burton.
The scores were left at 22-18 at the halftime buzzer.
Both teams come out looking tough in the second half but the Raiders were first to put more points on the board with a double for Jordan Rapana in the 44th minute.
Jarrod Croker wasn’t shying away from the try-line either, he went in for a try in the 57th minute which took the score-line out to 32-18 to the Raiders.
Jake Averillo scored in the 62nd minute for his second of the night which brought the scor-eline to an eight-point difference.
The Raiders then took advantage of a penalty in front of the goalposts with Jarrod Croker kicking the goal adding two points to the Raiders score.
After a controversial call of a knock-on from the referee that could have been a try to Xavier Savage, the Bulldogs were then awarded a penalty try after a tackle without the ball from Ata Mariota.
But the Raiders were able to hold on with a 34-30 win over the Bulldogs.
