Palmerbet give up jersey branding position for sick kids (Canberra Hospital Foundation)

The Canberra Raiders NRL Squad have travelled overseas early this week to prepare for their vital Round 21 clash v New Zealand Warriors on Friday 21 July 2023, however with thanks to major sponsor Palmerbet, the team will very much have some special locals ‘behind’ them for this top 4 showdown.

Due to restrictions on advertising overseas gambling in New Zealand, Palmerbet have collaboratively worked with the Raiders to offer Canberra Hospital Foundation branding rights on the players jerseys this week. At the end of the current season, these match-worn jerseys will be auctioned off online, with proceeds going to CHF for dedicated use to assist sick kids and their families.

Palmerbet Partnerships Manager, Leigh Dalton, explained this kind gesture “As a business that is both socially and ethically responsible, and at the request of the Palmer brothers who are not only Company Directors but young dads, we asked the Raiders to find a kids charity we could support for the match against the Warriors”,

“Fingers crossed the Green Machine kick fully into gear in this game, and the player worn jerseys are eagerly sought after, so we can raise some great money for kids in need” Dalton confirmed.

Helen Falla, Chief Executive Officer, Canberra Hospital Foundation responded, “We are so grateful to Palmerbet and the Raiders for supporting us and the sick children, we have been celebrating 50 years of Canberra Hospital this year, this definitely is a nice, unexpected gift”.

With both the Raiders and Warriors high up on the premiership ladder currently, the match-worn jerseys will be auctioned off through allbids.com.au at seasons end in case the jumpers are required again for a Finals Series fixture in Auckland.
