The Toyota Forklift Raiders have gone down to the Storm 48-2 in the round 24 clash at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

The Raiders were the first to put points on the board after a penalty goal from Jamal Fogarty which set the score at 2-0 early in the game.

The Storm was the first side to get a try in with a four-pointer from Christian Welch in the 12th minute which brought the score to 4-2. Along with the successful conversion from Nick Meaney, the scores were 6-2.

Melbourne went over the line for the second time with a try from Marion Seve in the 26th minute after a breakdown in defence from the Raiders.

After an unsuccessful conversion, the score stood at 10-2 in favor of the Storm.

The Storm went in again for the third time with a try from Reimis Smith just nine minutes before half time. Meaney converted with the score set at 16-2.

Melbourne was not done there scoring again on the brink of half-time with a try from Eliesa Katoa after consecutive six-again calls.

The conversion from Meaney was unsuccessful so the score stood at 20-2 on the bell of half-time.

Melbourne continued to wreak havoc on the Raiders errors, scoring in the 47th minute through Trent Loiero, and along with the conversion the score was 26-2.

Harry Grant was the next one over the line for the Storm off the back of a line break from Meaney. Meaney added the two points to make the score 32-2.

Melbourne continued to ruin the Raiders afternoon with another try coming from Cameron Munster in the 64th minute and a successful goal from Meaney.

The Raiders were then left without Jordan Rapana for the final ten minutes of the game after he was sent for 10 in the bin after a professional foul.

The Storm capitalised on the player down with fullback Meaney scoring with five minutes left on the clock.

The Raiders were left with just 11 players on the field as Matthew Timoko was sent for 10 in the bin with just two minutes left in the game.

The Storm went in for their ninth try of the afternoon with Young Tonumaipea going in for the final try, bringing the final score to 48-12.
