Raiders junior rep player named finalist in 2023 Apprentice Employment Awards

Raiders junior representative player Sam Chapman was named a finalist at the 2023 Apprentice Employment Network Awards night held last week.

Chapman, who will be part of the Raiders SG Ball squad next year, was named a finalist in School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year.

Chapman completed an ASBA at Evett Primary School in 2023 whilst completing his Year 12 studies, focusing on physical education as an assistant during his training.

He also obtained a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation in addition to a Certificate IV in Fitness this year.

Raiders Wellbeing, Education and Career Manager Sam Wentworth said that Chapman has a bright future ahead of him.

"We are extremely proud of Sam, his application to education and studies in 2023 has been exemplary," Wentworth said.

"Sam has a bright future on and off the field and will look to study at the University of Canberra in the following years.

The club would like to congratulate Sam on his efforts."

The Apprentice Employment Network NSW & ACT Awards (AEN Awards) recognise outstanding achievements in the vocational education and training sector.

The Awards reward and honour the achievements of apprentices, trainees, host employers and group training organisations.
