Team of the Year 2023: Wing

Congratulations to Brandon Withers of the West Belconnen Warriors for his selection at wing in the 2023 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.

Withers once again showcased his significance for the Warriors, which has earnt his selection in the Team of the Year for two consecutive seasons.

Brandon plays a vital role for the Westies, with most of their points this season coming from his prolific try scoring and his boot.

In the 12 games he played, Withers scored 12 tries, the most from his side, and kicked 46 goals, racking up a total of 140 points, the second highest points recorded in the Canberra Raiders Cup competition this year.

The reliable winger never leaves anything out on the park, which was particularly displayed in their semi-final against the Sharks.

Withers scored a hat-trick that game and kicked 4/5 conversions, giving the Warriors a chance in a game they just fell short 28-30.

The West Belconnen junior’s importance and contribution for his team embodies what it means to be part of the Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.
