Team of the Year 2023: Centre
Congratulations to Steven Numambo of the Queanbeyan Kangaroos for his selection at centre in the 2023 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.
Numambo was such an important piece to the premiership winning Roos of the 2023 season, particularly in attack.
Known for his damaging carries, Numambo was threatening every time he got the ball in hand and proved difficult to defend for all his opponents.
The Roos centre pairing provided the side with plenty of strike to play with, which saw the two receive early ball on many occasions.
Along with his attacking prowess, Numambo rarely made defensive mistakes, making him a great all-round player.
Numambo made two appearances for the Canberra Raiders NSW Cup side early in the year, but the young centre predominantly showcased his talents in the Canberra Raiders Cup, playing 16 games and picking up 6 tries.
