Excitement is brewing with the Raiders’ NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams set to face the Newcastle Knights this week as their seasons kick off in Newcastle.

The NSW Cup match kicks off in Newcastle at 5:30pm tonight at McDonald Jones Stadium, with the Jersey Flegg match following on Saturday at 3:30pm at St Johns Oval.

NSW Cup

An exciting game is coming up for the Raiders NSW Cup team as they look to start off their 2024 season with a bang this Thursday at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Brock Shepperd joins the Raiders this year as the 2024 NSW Cup coach after ten years with the Panthers and has named young guns Chevy Stewart and Michael Asomua as ones to look out for.

Stewart has been named as fullback, with Asomua on the wing. Both are coming in ready after each playing a game in the Pre-Season Challenge matches against the Eels and the Cowboys.

The last time these teams met in the NSW Cup was round 22 of last season, where the Raiders beat the Knights 36 – 24. Prior to that was round four of last season where the Raiders also beat the Knights 20 – 18.
