Queensland Under 19 women’s squad named

Eight players who were part of Queensland’s successful Under 19 team in 2023 will back up in this year’s interstate clash against New South Wales.

Ebony Raftstrand-Smith, Skyla Adams, Matekino Gray, Lily Peacock, Rilee Jorgensen, Shaylee Joseph, Malaela Su'a and Destiny Mino-Sinapati all played in Queensland’s 20-14 win over NSW at Kayo Stadium last year.

The returning Queensland contingent will be key players for the Deanna Turner-coached team in the June 20 clash at Sydney’s Leichhardt Oval.

Turner, who will be assisted by Mitch Sargent and Maia Tua-Davidson, will bring her squad into camp on the Gold Coast this Friday.

The squad includes a large contingent of players who have performed strongly in the BMD Premiership and Harvey Norman Under 19 competitions.

Along with their previous Queensland Under 19 experience, Peacock and Jorgensen have also benefited from their exposure to the NRLW at the end of last year.
