Junior Reps Wrap Round Two

This weekend saw the second round of the Junior Reps play out, with our girls at Kirkham Oval against the Tigers and the boys in Sydney against the Sharks at Sharks Stadium.

Westpac Lisa Fiaola Cup

The Raiders Lisa Fiaola side kicked off round two in Camden on Saturday morning with a strong start before falling to the Tigers 40-6.

The Tigers opened the game up with a quick try in the second minute, but two line-breaks by Raiders hooker Frankie Cappello took her across the line at the fifteen-minute mark and a strong conversion by Saige Fattore levelled the scores at six all.

After the dust settled, the Tigers shifted into second gear and ran away with the game, putting six more tries on our Raiders to claim the win in Camden.

The Lisa Fiaola side will return to their home turf this Saturday to take on the Knights at Raiders Belconnen in Canberra.

Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup

Our Tarsha Gale side faced a similarly upsetting defeat in Camden with the midday clash ending in a 34-0 loss to the Tigers.

The Tigers showed up, running in seven and slotting three to put the Raiders under the pump.

The Tarsha Gale side will also look to bounce back this coming weekend, returning to familiar grounds to face off against the Knights.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup

Up in enemy waters, the Raiders Harold Matthews side looked fierce in the opening minutes of their clash against the Sharks, but unfortunately the Saturday afternoon match ended in a crushing loss of 34-8.

The Sharks wasted no time scoring, backing up their second minute try with a conversion.

However, the Raiders fired back just seven minutes later, as centre Viliami Siale crossed over to get our first points on the board.

But the Sharks smelt blood in the water, piling on five more tries with four conversions to boot, taking the game squarely into their grasp.

A handy try to winger Kuluni Vaipuna fifty minutes in raised spirits, but ultimately the Green Machine returned home empty handed.

The Harold Matthews boys will look ahead to their clash with Illawarra this weekend, as they hope to bounce back on home turf against the Steelers in Belconnen.

UNE SG Ball Cup

The bad ‘n mean boys from the Raiders SG Ball Cup team took home their second win of the 2025 season against Cronulla on Saturday night, with a 22-14 win at Shark Park.

The first half was a bloodbath with a try each from James Croker and Hardy Glover in the opening fifteen minutes. Braydan Darmody slotted both to bring the Raiders twelve ahead.

Raiders winger Cooper Johnston also crashed across the line twice before half time, with some help from Darmody to bring the score to 22-0.

The Sharks gained a second wind in the next half, with three tries bringing them within reach of the Raiders. But ultimately the Raiders locked in the win.

The SG Ball side will look to continue its winning streak against the Illawarra Steelers at home this weekend.
