Monaro Colts: Semi-Final Preview
The Monaro Colts face the Northern Rivers Titans this Sunday in a Men’s Country Championships semi-final showdown.
Both teams meet in the middle, with Monaro traveling north and Northern Rivers heading south to Wollongong’s Collegians Sports Stadium.
These two sides meet again in the competition’s semi-final after last year’s tight contest, where Monaro edged Northern Rivers 12-8 to qualify for the grand final.
Monaro scraped through with a six-point round two win over the Illawarra South Coast Dragons, while Northern Rivers dominated the Northern Tigers 58-16.
Connor Williams led Monaro’s 36-30 win with a hat-trick, Tomasi Bikaca bagged a double, and Lucas Thompson was flawless with the boot.
For the Titans, Jacob Kernick scored a hat-trick, and seven other teammates crossed in a well-rounded team performance.
Sunday’s winner will advance to the grand final against either the Newcastle Rebels or Western Rams.
