NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 7 Wrap

The Raiders NSW and Jersey Flegg Cup sides bounced back with two big wins over Manly at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday.

The Knock-on Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup came away with a monster 46-12 win against the Sea-Eagles.

Noah Martin opened the scoring after jumping on a terrific kick from Adam Cook within the first two minutes of play.

It didn’t take the Sea-Eagles long to score their first try as Brendon Wakeham threw a long cut-out pass to his winger Jordan Swann, who went over for Manly's first try.

The Green Machine turned it on as they scored two tries going into the half to give them a 12-point buffer.

The Raiders didn’t stop there as they raided the tryline, scoring five tries in the second half to Manly’s lone try.

Noah Martin scored a double and Manaia Waitere scored a fantastic hat-trick to give the Raiders a 46-12 win.

The Green Machine will look to keep their momentum going into round eight as they will take on the Bears at GIO Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders’ Jersey Flegg Cup Side recorded a mammoth 56-24 win against the Sea-Eagles at Raiders Belconnen.

The Sea Eagles opened the scoring with a terrific cut-out pass from Callum Dowell to winger Munga Baruani to give them the six-point lead.

The Raiders hit back through an early kick from Keahn Skipps, who spotted Mutua Brown chasing through,  receiving a perfect bounce to cross over and score.

It was back and forth with tries throughout the first half between both sides, but it was the Raiders who took the two-point advantage going into the second half.

The Raiders charged onto the second half with intent, scoring six tries in the second half to Manly’s one.

Regan Carr claimed a double and Trae Bennetto scored a total of 22 points in the Raiders' 56-24 win over the Sea-Eagles.

The Raiders will look to keep their momentum going when they take on an in-form Storm outfit at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.
