The Canberra Raiders have re-signed impressive rookie forward Noah Martin on a new deal until the end of the 2028 season.

Martin made his NRL debut against the Warriors last weekend, coming off the bench in the Raiders' 16-10 win in New Zealand.

The new deal keeps him at the club for a further three seasons, with Martin’s development continuing his progression from the Raiders' junior representative program into the NRL squad.

Martin played Harold Matthews Cup for the Raiders for three seasons during its transition from under-16s to under-17s, and has represented the club at SG Ball, Jersey Flegg, NSW Cup, and now NRL level.

He said the way the club has supported his journey through the grades has helped him reach where he is today, and he is excited about what lies ahead.

“To come into the Raiders at a young age and work my way through the grades has been great,” Martin said. “My dad is a big Raiders fan, and he was pushing me to try out for the Raiders when I was 13. I was able to make the Harold Matts team and go from there.”

“It’s very exciting to re-sign, and I’m just keen to keep on ripping in with the boys and see where the next three years take me.”

Having made his NRL debut last weekend, Martin said he was eager to get more games at the top level when the time was right.

“I’m still speechless and getting my head around it. It was a dream come true and something I’ve wanted since I was a little fella,” he said. “I’m very grateful to have had the chance to debut, and when I get another chance, I’ll be ready.”

Raiders NRL Recruitment Manager Joel Carbone said the former NSW Under-19s Origin player had shown he has what it takes to play at NRL level and would continue to develop in the coming seasons.

“Noah is a tough and skilful player who we’ve watched come through our pathways system and develop into someone we believe can have a long career in the NRL,” Carbone said.

“It was wonderful to see him get his opportunity in New Zealand last weekend to make his NRL debut, and we look forward to him getting more opportunities as he continues his time with the club.”
