NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 15 Preview

The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides will both travel away this weekend, with NSW Cup taking on the North Sydney Bears and Jersey Flegg the Melbourne Storm.

Knock-On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders’ NSW Cup side will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 24-14 loss against the Rabbitohs at GIO Stadium Canberra last Sunday.

In what was a tough contest, second-rower Joe Roddy was a standout, attempting to turn the game around by adding a double to the scoreboard.

Coach Chris Lewis makes a few changes to the backline this week, with Jed Stuart moving to centre and Jensen Taumoepeau moving from the bench to a spot on the wing.

Meanwhile, the Bears enter Round 15 off the back of a 24-20 win against the Sea Eagles last Saturday.

This will be the second time these teams battle it out this season with the Raiders taking the win in round eight, 36-26.

The Raiders will travel to North Sydney to take on the Bears this Sunday afternoon.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders come into Round 15 looking to make it six in a row after a solid victory against the Rabbitohs last Saturday at home.

It was a strong performance from the Raiders with seven players adding tries to the scoreboard and second-rower Jaxon Lavender contributing a double.

This week Jai Purser will move from prop to second row and Caleb Garvie from the bench to prop.

They will have their work cut out for them as they take on the top of the table Melbourne Storm who in their previous match won 32-16 against the fifth placed Panthers.

This will be the second time the Raiders go head-to-head with the Storm this season, suffering a 52-14 loss in round eight.

They will be looking for redemption this week when they travel to Broadmeadows and try to spoil the Storm's chances this Saturday.
