NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 16 Wrap

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side won their seventh consecutive match and remain on top of the ladder, while the NSW Cup side fell just short against the Bulldogs last weekend.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Green Machine have taken home their seventh consecutive win after beating the Bulldogs 24-16 at Belmore Sports Ground last weekend.

The Bulldogs barged out of the kennel in the first half with a commanding 16-6 lead.

The Raiders had to start the half quickly, and they did with Malachi Smith and Tim Carson both scoring within 12 minutes into the half, giving the Raiders an 18-16 lead.

With just 13 minutes remaining, it was Xavier Cacciotti putting the nail in the coffin with the Raiders raiding the tryline for a second-half comeback to take a 24-16 win.

Jersey Flegg remain in top spot for the second consecutive week and will look to make it three when they take on the Knights next weekend at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side suffered a tough 30-18 loss over the Weekend at Belmore Sports Ground.

Canberra Raiders trailed at the halftime break 14-12 with tries to Noah Martin and Jensen Taumoepeau.

The Bulldogs were first to score in the second half, giving the Bulldogs a strong 20-12 lead.

The Green Machine pulled back as Adam Cook went over to score to make it a two-point ball game with just 18 minutes left on the clock.

But it was the Bulldogs who clicked into gear, scoring back-to-back tries in the final five minutes to take home a 30-18 win.

The Raiders will be desperate to find some winning form when they take on the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium next weekend.
