The Gungahlin Bulls have defeated the Yass Magpies 30-16 in front of their home fans at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval on Saturday afternoon.
A returning Kane Allan provided the Bulls with attacking flair, as the left centre crossed for two tries and set up three in a big win for Gungahlin's finals chances.
The Magpies started the better of the two sides, after Lekani Mpaso reclaimed the ball off the kickoff and provided the visitors with an opportunity attacking the try line.
The opportunity was taken with both hands, as the weight of early possession became too much for the home side, as Magpies prop Rana Baker charged through and carried four Bulls defenders over the line.
An error in the set after provided the Bulls with their first attacking set which proved fruitful as Noah Marcantonio dug deep into the defensive line before a little kick in behind, which was unable to be defused, pounced upon by Kane Allan in his return to level the scores at 6-6.
After a well-executed set from the Magpies, placed the Bulls in the corner, the halves from Gungahlin took a chance and shifted the ball in their own half, finding Allan who stormed into the back field before assisting Bolatagici for his first of the season.
The ill-discipline from the Magpies continued after Little was unable to defuse a bomb, which was punished by Georgievski beating three Magpies defenders on his way to the try line, making it 16-6.
Kane Allan was proving too much to handle for the Magpies defensive line, with a second break from his own end setting up Bolatagici for a carbon copy of his first try.
The Magpies needed to be next to score and after Marcantonio kicked it out on the full, the class of Kaiden Bell shone as he mesmerised the Bulls defensive line with exceptional ball playing which found Ben Davis and was finished off by Cody Bell.
The frantic nature of the first half continued with the Bulls claiming their fifth try of the half through their damaging left centre Kane Allan, spinning through multiple defenders and crossing in the corner, to extend the home side's lead to 24-12 at the break.
Trailing at the break the visitors needed to be first to score and that's exactly what happened as Cody Bell created something out of nothing, entering the backfield and finding his brother Kaidan for the first try of the second half.
The ill-discipline of the Magpies continued to plague them as Jordan Eti was sent to the sin bin for dragging a Bulls player to the ground.
The Bulls took full advantage of the extra man with halfback Schumacher showing and going to extend the home sides lead back to twelve points.
The impressive attack of the Bulls continued as Allan's damaging line running continued with his third line break, finding his fullback Ryan Grocott who burned Little and secured the two points for Gungahlin.
Yass tried to overturn the 36-18-point deficit, however, were unable to execute the last pass on multiple occasions and strong defence from the home side.
