Round 16 of the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield sees two exciting matchups as the race for the minor premiership heats up.

Woden Valley Rams vs Gungahlin Bulls

9:30am, Saturday 2nd August at Phillip Oval

The Woden Valley Rams welcome the Gungahlin Bulls to Phillip Oval in a contest which is set to have considerable finals ramifications.

The Rams enter this week off the back of a bye, with their latest performance a 30-14 victory over the Yass Magpies.

With three games remaining in their season, the Rams currently sit in second position and will need to finish the season strongly if they wish to claim the minor premiership.

Meanwhile, the Gungahlin Bulls suffered a heavy defeat against the Belconnen United Sharks last start and are hanging on to fourth spot.

With games remaining against the Rams and Warriors, it creates a tough task for the Bulls and their finals aspirations as the Magpies are in fifth and ready to swoop in.

Both sides will be desperate for the two points for different reasons which creates an interesting dynamic for a must watch matchup.

Goulburn City Bulldogs vs West Belconnen Warriors

10:40am, Saturday 2nd August at Workers Arena

The West Belconnen Warriors travel up the Hume Highway this weekend to take on the Goulburn City Bulldogs as they look to secure the minor premiership.

This weekend will see the Bulldogs first match in three weeks, with their latest performance a comprehensive defeat against the Gungahlin Bulls at home.

Meanwhile, the Warriors return after having last weekend off and remain the only undefeated team in the competition, with their latest victory by fourteen points over the Bushrangers.

With three games remaining, a win for West Belconnen will see them all but secure the minor premiership, however, they cannot afford a loss as the Rams are breathing down their necks.

This presents as a danger game for the Warriors, as the Bulldogs are looking to secure their first win of the season.
