NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 22 Preview

The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides will both travel to Lidcombe Oval, set to take on the Magpies and Tigers on Saturday.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

Canberra will be looking to build on last week's terrific 28-16 victory at home against the Newcastle Knights, when they take on the Western Suburbs Magpies this Saturday.

After what was a tough start to the season, the Raiders have won their last three games and currently sit eighth on the ladder and will be aiming to push towards the top five and qualify for finals.

The Raiders meet a Magpies side who they played at the start of the month, where the Magpies scored two tries in five minutes to come back from behind and win 22-18.

The Raiders will need to win the rest of their games if they have any chance of playing finals this season, and they will need a bit of luck to fall their way to scrape into that top five.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side returns to the field after their week off and will take on the Wests Tigers at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday.

After a tough 36-30 defeat to the Eels in round 20, the Green Machine will need to get back into winning ways if they want to finish the season within the top four.

The Raiders suffered a tough loss against the Tigers last time these two teams met, with the Tigers scoring two tries in four minutes to steal the game from the Raiders.

Meanwhile, the Tigers scored a 32-20 win against Penrith in round 20 and are currently making a late push to finals as they sit seventh on the ladder.

Both teams will need to be on par and can't afford to falter in this game, as the Raiders could fall out of the top four while the Tigers could fall out of the top eight. This game will prove to be a terrific contest between the two clubs.
