NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 23 Wrap

The Raiders NSW Cup side continue their finals push after knocking off the second-placed Dragons to win their fourth straight over the weekend.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders defeated the Dragons 32-14, keeping their finals hopes alive on Saturday afternoon in Wollongong.

In wet conditions, the Raiders ran away winners in the second half as they piled on four late tries.

Raiders fullback Chevy Stewart bagged two tries in Saturday's win, continuing his strong form at the back as they set their eyes on the Bulldogs this weekend.

Canberra still remain four points outside the top four with three games remaining. The Green Machine will need to win all three to play finals football in September.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Jersey Flegg Cup side succumbed to a 26-10 loss to the Dragons on Saturday, relegating them to fifth on the ladder.

Canberra look to have been in control, taking a 10-6 lead at halftime after Malachi Smith and Luke Tuialii crossed the stripe in the first half.

But it was all one-way traffic in the second as Illawarra scored 22 unanswered points to run away winners.

This loss now puts a huge significance on this weekend's clash with the Bulldogs, with Canterbury only four points behind heading into the business end of the season.
