Canberra Raiders Cup: Washout Round Wrap

The final round of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup was an exciting weekend, with one side claiming a big win to lock in their spot in the finals.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 62 def. Yass Magpies 12

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers claimed a big win against the Yass Magpies to book their spot in the 2025 finals series.

It was a dominant first half for the home side, as they took a 28-point lead into the sheds, however their winger Lachie Davis was the highlight of the afternoon scoring five tries and ascending to the top of the try scorers list.

Meanwhile, the loss places a full stop on Yass' season which unfortunately sees them finish ninth in the competition.

The Bushrangers will prepare for a do or die final next weekend against the West Belconnen Warriors at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday afternoon.

Woden Valley Rams 46 def. Belconnen United Sharks 14

The Woden Valley Rams secured a comprehensive victory against the Belconnen United Sharks, however with other results not going their way, they fall just short of playing in the finals.

Leaving nothing out on the field, Woden Valley scored eight tries to three, with Rams stalwart Micheal Geiger crossing for two tries.

It was a tough afternoon for the Sharks which replicated their season which was crippled by injuries, Maika Ravouvou provided a highlight for the home fans scoring two tries.

For both the Rams and Sharks their 2025 campaigns have come to a close, with Woden Valley finishing in fifth and Belconnen United in seventh.

West Belconnen Warriors 20 draw Gungahlin Bulls 20

The West Belconnen Warriors and Gungahlin Bulls played out a 20 all draw which sees the Warriors lock in third position.

Winger Brandon Withers scored two tries for the Warriors, whilst Jarrod Lenihan crossed in his return from injury, in a game which held significance for the club being Captain Coach Ryan McQueen's 150th First Grade game.

Meanwhile, the Bulls had four different try scorers and scored in the final five minutes to level the scores.

The Bulls 2025 campaign has come to an end; however, they can take confidence for next year after a much improve season from last year, whilst the Warriors prepare for an elimination final against the Bushrangers.

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 22 def. Goulburn City Bulldogs 16

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos secured a tight six-point victory against the Goulburn City Bulldogs to secure the 2025 minor premiership by four competition points.

It was a professional performance from the two-time defending premiers, and they look well equipped to make a charge at a third consecutive title.

Meanwhile, for the Bulldogs the loss is their eleventh and final of the season, with the side finishing eighth on the ladder, Bulldogs stalwart Tyson Greenwood scored in back-to-back weeks.

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos will prepare to take on their cross-town rivals in the Blues next weekend in the major semi-final at Seears Workwear Oval.
