NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 25 Wrap

The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams both claimed an important two points in Round 25 heading into the final round of the regular season.

Knock-On Effect NSW Cup

An inspired second half comeback saw the Raiders NSW Cup team’s season stay alive heading into a must-win match in the final round of the season.

Down 20-4 at half-time, the Raiders scored 34 points in the second half against the South Sydney Rabbitohs to keep their finals hopes alive.

It was all the Rabbitohs in the first half, with Jensen Taumoepeau the only Raiders try scorer heading into half-time.

Mitchell Prest got the Raiders rolling early in the second half, scoring in the 41st minute before tries to Noah Martin, Joe Roddy, Trey Mooney, Adam Cook and Chevy Stewart saw the Raiders run away with a 38-26 win.

The Raiders now need to beat the Panthers this weekend by four points or more to claim the important fifth place on the ladder heading into finals.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg team enjoyed a big win against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Redfern Oval on Saturday, 46-12.

The Raiders ran out to a 24-0 lead at half-time thanks to tries to Jamie Cowling, Mutua Brown, Mitchell Brophy and Jaxon Lavender.

The Raiders continued to pile on the points in the second half, scoring another four tries. Lavender scored his second, with Sam Hyne, Sylas Simon and Ethan Alaia also getting on the scoreboard.

The Raiders sit in fourth place on the ladder with one game remaining and will take on the second placed Panthers on Saturday to determine where in the Top Five they finish the regular season.
