Darby Medlyn Wins the 2025 Les McIntyre Medal

Darby Medlyn of the Tuggeranong Bushrangers has won the 2025 Les McIntyre Medal, recognised as the best and fairest of the Canberra Raiders Cup competition. 

The Bushrangers leader narrowly edged out finalists Dylan McLachlan, Ryan McQueen and Mitch Cornish, securing the award by four votes. 

After missing the 2024 season with an ACL injury, Medlyn returned to the field this year and has been instrumental for the Bushrangers outfit. 

Under his leadership, the Bushrangers have gone a ten-game win streak, where Medlyn polled votes in seven of those games, including five man of the matches. 

Alongside, his playing ability, Medlyn was recognised off the field for his coaching efforts alongside Brenden Bradley as the two were recognised as the Don Furner Snr Coaches of the Year.

Lara Cosgrove claims the 2025 Maree Bush Medal 

Woden Valley's Lara Cosgrove has been recognised as the best and fairest in the Katrina Fanning Shield, earning the 2025 Maree Bush Medal. 

After finishing second in last year's count, the talented fullback clean swept the KFS awards, claiming the competition top try scorer and top points scorer on the night as well. 

Cosgrove polled 24 votes, finishing well clear of fellow contenders Indi Dyball and Gabbie Davis.
