The Harden Hawkettes team will face off against the Crookwell Green Devils’ at Mick Sherd Oval in the 2025 Blumers Lawyers George Tooke Shield League Tag Grand Final.

The Harden Hawkettes locked in their place on the big stage after a commanding 24-0 over the minor premiers; the North Canberra Bears two weeks ago, and have enjoyed a week off before this weekend’s grand final.

The Hawkettes’ own Georgia Smith has dominated the white line this season – leading the ‘top tries’ competition ladder after running in an eye watering 36 tries in eleven games. The gun was recognised for her efforts at the Les McIntyre Medal Presentation Night where she was awarded runner up in the best and fairest.

Meanwhile, the Devils have fought their way through finals after a heartbreaking 17-16 loss to the Hawkettes in the qualifying final three weeks ago. They bounced back with a gritty 14-8 win over the Brahmins, before toppling the Bears 18-8 in the preliminary final to book their grand final berth.

The Devils’ Jayde Della has been putting in the hard yards for Crookwell – coming in at third overall in the league’s top try-scorers and top point-scorers this season.

Before their nail-biting clash in finals, the two sides last met in Round 12 of the regular season, where the Devils claimed an 18-6 victory over the Harden Hawks. Their Round 4 matchup was washed out, making this weekend’s grand final the decisive tiebreaker.

Kick-off for the 2025 Blumers Lawyers George Tooke Shield League Tag Grand Final is set for 1:00pm on Saturday 20th September at Mick Sherd Oval.
