Coby Black signs with Canberra Raiders

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders can confirm the signing of young halfback Coby Black on a three-year deal, joining the club effective immediately.

Black joins the Raiders having represented the Queensland Under 19’s side on two occasions, including captaining the Maroons to a 23-22 victory earlier in 2025.

The 19-year-old halfback has played 21 games of QLD Cup for the Souths Logan Magpies, scoring seven tries and logging a further 14 try assists.

Raiders Recruitment Manager, Chris Hutchison, said the club is excited to welcome Coby to the Raiders.

“Coby is a great young player and we’re very excited to welcome him to Canberra this season and continue his development at the Raiders.”

“He has shown strong ability already, progressing through the ranks to debut in QLD Cup at the age of 18.”
