The Canberra Raiders are pleased to announce the re-signing of Jordyn Preston until the end of the 2027 NRLW season.
Preston impressed in her first season in green in 2025, playing all 11 games in the forward pack and winning the club’s Coaches’ Award for the season.
It was the 23-year-old’s first full season of NRLW, having played two games for the St George-Illawarra Dragons in 2024.
Raiders NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick said he’s excited to see Preston extend her time in Canberra for a further two seasons.
“It is very rewarding for Jordy, she came here on a one year deal I guess to get out of her comfort zone. She was terrific for us, she filled a couple of positions earlier on in the season but she got better and better as the season went on and fully deserves her contract extension,” Borthwick said.
“She’s a well-liked member of the team, someone that I think relishes in the Canberra environment. I’m looking forward to having her back and hopefully continuing on the season that she had.
“She will certainly put a lot of pressure on the group and that’s what we want ultimately, everyone putting a bit of pressure on each other positionally. That gets the best out of everyone.”
Preston said she loved her first season in Canberra and can’t wait to return for the next two years.
“I’m extremely excited about being here for another two seasons. I love everything about this club - the girls, the staff, the fans, just the Raiders as a whole - we have such a special culture and I’m really grateful that I get to be a part of it for another two years,” Preston said.
“Coming to a new club last year, I was really excited but also quite nervous. The second I walked into HQ and met the girls and staff, it felt like I’d been there forever. Everyone was so welcoming and it truly feels like a family away from home.
“Overall the girls push me to be better on and off the field. On the field I play for them as I know they play for me.
“I want to win a premiership in the green jersey, I truly believe we have the team to do it and I’m excited for 2026.”
