Tooth joins Raiders NRLW Top 24 squad

The Canberra Raiders are pleased to announce that Madyson Tooth will join the club’s Top 24 squad for the 2026 NRLW season.

Tooth impressed as a development player for the Raiders NRLW team in 2025, playing nine games for Mounties, helping the side reach the semi finals of the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership.

The Goulburn Junior Stockmen representative came through the Raiders junior pathways, playing three seasons with the club’s Tarsha Gale Cup team between 2019 and 2021.

Raiders NRLW Coach Darrin Borthwick said he’s excited to see Tooth get the opportunity to join the Top 24 squad this season.

“Maddy was very unlucky last year not to get an opportunity to play NRLW. Whenever she went back to Mounties she performed really, really well. It was an easy decision in the end to elevate her into our Top 24,” Borthwick said.

“She’s a tough country girl and someone that has come through our system, so I’m really happy for Maddy and I can’t wait until the day she does get her opportunity.

“She thoroughly deserves her opportunity. She’ll only get better again and she’s well liked within the group. I’m looking forward to working on her game even more.”

Tooth said that after a year as a development player, she’s excited to be elevated into the Top 24 squad for the upcoming season.

“I'm so excited for the opportunity. I've put a lot of work in over the past few years, so it feels good to see it’s starting to pay off,” Tooth said.

“I learnt so much in my first year at the club, I was so grateful that I got to learn from and train alongside some of the best. I think being in a professional environment where everyone’s chasing the same goal pushed me a lot physically and mentally. I feel like I got a good insight of what it takes to compete at this level.

“My main goal is to keep proving myself, learning as much as I can and hopefully earn my debut.”
