Junior Reps Wrap: Round Two

The Canberra Raiders junior reps' sides had a tough weekend in Sydney, logging just the one win over the Bulldogs across all grades.

The Green Machine will have a prime opportunity to turn things around this weekend, when they return home against the Panthers.

Lisa Fiaola Cup

The Raiders Lisa Fiaola Cup side recorded a 48-4 defeat at the hands of a first-placed Bulldogs side.

Canterbury flew out of the gates establishing a 28-nil lead at the halftime break.

A late sin-bin in the first half to Bulldogs centre Jayda Peo gave the Raiders an advantage which they capatilised on, with fullback Evie Perry crossing over for their only try of the afternoon.

The Raiders will look to get back to winning ways this Saturday, when they host the first match of a quadruple header against the Panthers.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders didn't have any more luck in the Tarsha Gale Cup, going down 30-6 to the Bulldogs.

It was much of the same with the Bulldogs off to a flying start in this contest, leading 20-nil at the break.

Raiders skipper Gabriella Savage bagged a four-pointer late in the piece which was converted by Adelaide Norris.

The Raiders will turn their attention to the Panthers, who enter this matchup on a high after a win over the Rabbitohs last weekend.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders fell to the Bulldogs 28-6 on Saturday afternoon at McCredie Park, Sydney.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring with two tries in the first five minutes, jumping out to an early lead.

Raiders prop Max Lundy replied with a quick try before the Bulldogs answered with a pair of their own to lead Canberra 18-6 at the break.

Trailing just two tries, the Raiders couldn't make the comeback as Canterbury ran in two more four-pointers to take the commanding 28-6 victory at home.

SG Ball Cup

Canberra continued their strong start to the season, edging out the Bulldogs 28-20 on the road.

In a see-saw affair, the Raiders led the Bulldogs 16-12 at the break after a late try to Denzel Veikune before halftime.

Canberra came out with all the momentum in the second half, scoring two tries in four minutes to establish the commanding 28-12 lead.

The Bulldogs attempted a comeback but two missed conversions held the scores to an 8-point victory for the Green Machine.

The Raiders will look to make it 3/3 to start the year, when they face the Panthers at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.
