In an action-packed day at Laurie Daley Oval, Junee, the Monaro Colts produced a dominate day, claiming victory in four out of five games.
Regional Lisa Fiaola Cup (U17s)
Riverina Bulls 42 def. Monaro Colts 6
It was a difficult day out for the Monaro Colts in the Regional Lisa Fiaola Cup competition with the side suffering a comprehensive defeat at the hands of the Riverina Bulls.
Fullback Ruby Douglas and Centre Sophie Gilchrist starred for Riverina both crossing for try scoring doubles.
The Monaro Colts remain winless in their 2026 campaign and will be looking for their first victory, in the last match of the season against the Western Rams at Seiffert Oval.
Andrew Johns Cup (U16s)
Monaro Colts 46 def. Riverina Bulls 6
The Monaro Colts continued their impressive season in the Andrew Johns Cup with a strong victory against the Riverina Bulls away from home.
Monaro began like a house on fire, shooting out to a 36-0 lead before the half time break, with tries to Harwood, Bugden, Bolton, Braithwaite, Dzaja and Hodge.
Kai Bolton's speed was too much for the Bulls, with the winger scoring three tries, in the nine tries to one victory.
The Andrew Johns Cup side will look for three wins in a row next weekend when they take on the Western Rams at Seiffert Oval on Saturday morning.
Laurie Daley Cup (U18s)
Monaro Colts 28 def. Riverina Bulls 22
The Laurie Daley Cup side claimed their first win of the 2026 season with a tight six-point victory against the Bulls yesterday.
Similarly to the Andrew Johns side, the Colts started fast leading 16-4 at the half time interval, before the Bulls charged home in the second half, falling short of claiming the two points.
Latrell Dyer and Sebastian Jones were the best for the Colts, with the Centre and Fullback crossing for two tries each in the win.
The Colts will look for back-to-back wins next weekend against the Western Rams at Seiffert Oval.
Women's Country Championships
Monaro Colts 40 def. Riverina Bulls 6
The Monaro Colts Open Women's side opened their 2026 campaign with a dominate victory against the Riverina Bulls.
Despite conceding the first try of the game, the Colts scored eight unanswered to ensure they walk away with the two competition points.
The Maree Bush Medalist from last season, Lara Cosgrove, scored a double, whilst Bulls fullback Molly Sturgiss ended up on the scoresheet twice as well.
Monaro will look to continue their 2026 campaign with a victory against the Rams next weekend at 2:10pm on Saturday.
Men's Country Championships
Monaro Colts 30 def. Riverina Bulls 18
The Men's open side capped off an impressive day for the Monaro Colts securing a 30-18 victory against the Bulls.
Needing a victory to continue their campaign, the five to four try victory ensured that the Colts extend their season by another week.
The try scoring ability of Connor Williams was on full display once again, with the crafty number one crossing the line, whilst Captain Darby Medlyn also scored in the win.
The Colts will wait for the remaining Round One matchups to see who they will face in the next round of the Country Championships.
