Junior Reps Preview: Round Six

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders junior reps are facing the Roosters sides this Saturday with a quadruple header at Mascot Oval in Sydney.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup

Kicking off the day is the Harold Matthews Cup at 12:00pm, as the Canberra Raiders face the Sydney Roosters. Following last weeks' two point loss to the Bears, the Raiders will be looking to get back into this winners circle this Saturday.

The Raiders are currently sitting 11th on the ladder as they head into tomorrow's fixture. The Roosters have climbed to seventh after scraping away with a win against the Sharks. These teams have come head-to-head six times previous, with each side taking home three wins each.

Safe to say their seventh matchup will be tight, with Raiders fighting to remain in reach of the top eight.

UNE SG Ball Cup

The SG Ball Cup will follow up with another entertaining game for the Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters at 1:30pm.

The Raiders have dropped to ninth on the ladder after losing to the Bears last week, and now look to beat the team leading the competition. However, coming off five from five wins this season, the Roosters are in fine form.

The Raiders are bringing in Preston Smallwood for the first time this season to go up against Roosters star winger, Bastion Armstrong. This may be the competitive edge they need to secure a win as they enter the final three games of the season.

The Raiders have a competitive history against the Roosters, winning three of their seven meetings. Adding to this tally is crucial for the Canberra side as they look to break Sydney’s winning streak.

Westpac Lisa Fiaola Cup

Kicking off the junior reps girls in the Lisa Fiaola Cup are the Canberra Raiders and Central Coast Roosters at 3:00pm.

The Raiders have climbed to eighth place after an impressive win against the Sea Eagles whilst the Roosters remain in second coming off a bye.

Although the Central Coast remain undefeated this season, big changes to the Roosters team may give the Raiders a chance to throw them off their feet and bring home a win.

The teams have only versed each other once, with the Roosters coming away with the win.

The Raiders girls will be eager to settle the score and prove they deserve their place in the eight.

Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup

Closing out the weekend is the Tarsha Gale Cup at 4:30pm, with a competitive matchup between the Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy.

The Raiders currently sit in seventh with three wins and two losses, while the Roosters are in second spot with four wins.

The Raiders are coming off a high, smashing the Sea Eagles 52-6 last week in the nations capital. The Raiders will attempt to ride the momentum from their last match and battle it out against the Roosters to keep their spot in the eight.

Safe to say this top eight matchup will be an exciting way to round out a big day of footy!
