Junior Reps Wrap: Round Six

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders junior reps sides had an up and down weekend of results, wrapping up four games at Mascot Oval against the Roosters.

Lisa Fiaola Cup

The Raiders LF Cup side succumbed to a 42-20 loss to the CC Roosters on Saturday morning.

The Raiders started the match hot, scoring three straight tries to lead the Roosters 14-0 after 16 minutes.

However, it was all one-way traffic from there as the Roosters ran in eight tries to record a strong victory at home.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders HM Cup side were the only winners on the card, holding on for a tight 20-16 win over the Roosters.

Canberra started quick, scoring two tries in the opening seven minutes to establish an early 10-nil lead.

After leading 14-6 at the break, the Roosters cameback to lead 16-14 with under 15 minutes to go.

Enter Raiders winger Rafferty Gordon, who stood up to score the match-winner and secure the important win.

Canberra now sit in eighth position on the ladder with the bye round this weekend.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup side were defeated 38-12 by the Indigenous Academy Roosters on Saturday afternoon.

Raiders captain Gabriella Savage crossed for a first half double as the visitors levelled 12-all at the halftime break.

The first placed Roosters showed their class in the second half, running away with a strong victory to continue their undefeated season.

Canberra will enjoy the bye this weekend to regroup ahead of the back end of the season.

SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball side suffered a tough 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Roosters to round out the four match card in Sydney.

The Roosters ran in 10 tries in what was a dominant performance at home.

This loss places the Raiders in 13th place with the upcoming bye round coming at a good time.

The Raiders will travel to Cessnock Sportsground to take on the Knights in a fortnight's time.
