Monaro Colts: Semi Final Wrap

The Monaro Colts Open Women's and Andrew Johns Cup sides suffered heartbreaking defeats last weekend which sees their 2026 campaigns come to an end.

Andrew Johns Cup (U16s)

Newcastle Maitland Region Knights 32 def. Monaro Colts 26

The Monaro Colts suffered a tight defeat against the Newcastle Maitland Region Knights to end their 2026 campaign one game short of the Grand Final.

Three unanswered tries in the first half set up the game for the Knights, with fullback Harlem Blair playing a key role in the nominated home side taking a 24-10 lead into the break.

Second half tries from Colts captain Joel Trevethan and Finn Braithwaite attempted to bring their side back into the contest; however, it proved too little too late.

Despite falling short in the Semi Final, the campaign for the Colts can be viewed as a success qualifying for the finals, after missing last year's series.

Open Women's

Northern Rivers Titans 14 def. Monaro Colts 4

The Northern Rivers Titans have advanced to the 2026 Open Women's Country Championship Final after defeating the Monaro Colts in a tight contest.

Halfback Natalia Hickling opened the scoring for the Titans before Colts Five Eighth Imojean Vea locked the scores up at 4 a piece.

Back-to-back tries either side of half-time through Evie Emmett and Shakaya Williams saw the Titans take a ten-point lead.

Despite the best efforts of the Colts, lightning and dangerous weather played a part in the early conclusion of the game and therefore ending their 2026 season.
