The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders Cup & Flegg sides both fell to the Bulldogs in tight losses at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders hosted the Bulldogs in the first of a double header on Saturday afternoon, where Canterbury held on for a tight 30-26 victory.

In a see-sawing first half, the Bulldogs held the 12-8 advantage going into the halftime break.

A sin-bin to Canberra prop Campbell Munn saw the Bulldogs capatilise with two tries to take a 30-14 lead with 15 minutes to go.

Canberra attempted a comeback but it was too late as the Bulldogs held on to take the two competition points.

Saturday's loss places Canberra in tenth on the competition ladder with the Green Machine set to take on the Sharks this Sunday at GIO Stadium.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side couldn't complete the comeback, trailling 28-4 in the second half to go down by two points at fulltime.

The Bulldogs were fast out of the gates, establishing a strong 24-4 advantage at halftime.

After conceding another try after the break, Canberra had it all to do as they mounted their comeback through an Owen Pattie try.

Raiders winger Jed Stuart would later score a hattrick as momentum swung the way of the Green Machine heading into the dying stages.

However, it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs held on to grab their first win of the season.
