NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round Five Preview

The Raiders JF Cup side are looking to make it back-to-back wins this Sunday.

Canberra hit their strides in the last 20 minutes last week to bury Cronulla at home last weekend where they will be looking for a more consistent 80 minute performance.

Meanwhile, Newcastle haven't started their 2026 campaign the way they would've liked, sitting 1-3 in second last on the table.

The home side will be desperate to turn it around and shapes up to be an intriguing match to kickoff proceedings in Newcastle on Easter Sunday.

The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side are searching for a win this weekend to snap an early-season losing streak, when they take on the Knights in Sunday's curtain raiser at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Canberra have yet to hit their strides in the NSW Cup, dropping two games by only two points through the first four rounds.

The new NRL six-man interchange has resulted in a re-shuffle and an inconsistent spine for the Raiders with Daine Laurie, Chevy Stewart and Jed Stuart all missing games due to NRL selection.

Meanwhile, the Knights have had an excellent start to the year, owning the competition's best for and against with a 3-1 record.

Like the Jersey Flegg contest, Canberra will be desperate to turn things around on Sunday but face an in-form Newcastle side on their home deck. Sunday's contest shapes up to be a cracker.
