Junior Reps Wrap: Round Nine

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders junior rep regular season came to an end on Good Friday last week, when we played the Sharks at Ocean Protect Stadium.

The Raiders Harold Matthews Cup side have qualified for the upcoming finals series, finishing eighth on the ladder. 

They will face the Parramatta Eels in an elimination final this Saturday at Ringrose Park, Sydney.

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders Juniors Represenative teams had their the final round of the regular season and took on the Cronulla Sharks on Good Friday at Ocean Protect Stadium.

Lisa Fiaola Cup

The Lisa Fiaola squad were defeated 30-4 by Cronulla to kick off Friday's matchday.

Cronulla were dominant from start to finish as they cemented their position in finals.

Raiders second-rower Chelsea Tyrrell was a beacon of hope to score the Raiders only try of the match 30 minutes into the game.

There were two sin bins handed out during the match with Raiders second rower Abby Jordan receiving one twenty minutes into the match and Canberra centre Alaiela Dargin-Bell received one late in the second half for a professional foul.

This now ends the LF Cup side's season and sees them finish ninth for the season.

Tarsha Gale Cup

In the Tarsha Gale cup, Canberra were defeated 22-10 by Cronulla.

The Sharks made their mark with a try being scored by their winger Ayva Papalii in the first minute of the match and held a 6-point-lead at halftime.

Raiders second-rower Kymiah Stewart scored the Raiders only second-half try and was successfully converted by interchange player Hollie Shepherd.

This is now the end for Canberra’s Tarsha Gale squad for 2026 and sees them finish tenth in the regular season.

SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball squad were defeated 36-14 by Cronulla.

The Raiders were looking to continue their winning streak at Shark Park and Raiders winger Kruger Roache had a strong game scoring two tries in the first half.

However, this wasn’t enough as Sharks continued to lay on the points throughout the second half.

This now unfortunately puts an end to the season for the SG Ball squad and have finished the season in 12th.

Harold Matthews Cup

To finish the day on a high, we had the Harold Matthews squad produce a huge win against Cronulla 38-8.

The Raiders came out firing scoring four tries in the first 20 minutes of the match and continued this dominance throughout the match to keep the Sharks to nil for nearly 40 minutes

Canberra centre Altra Atilua was unfortunately sent to the sin bin in the final minutes of the match due to a dangerous tackle.

The squad has finished their regular season in eighth and now will start their finals campaign against the Eels this Saturday in Sydney.
