Round Two of the Katrina Fanning Shield has come to a close, with Belconnen United Sharks and West Belconnen Warriors both enjoying their seconds wins of the season.
Belconnen United Sharks 38 def. Tuggeranong Bushrangers 16
Belconnen United have continued their strong start to the 2026 season, defeating the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 38-16 on Saturday afternoon.
Eliza Taylor has become very familiar with the try line this season, scoring two tries in the Sharks victory, taking her season tally to six after just two rounds.
Reese Paunovic also enjoyed a strong performance, scoring two tries of her own and converting 5/7 attempts.
Adelaide Norris stood out for Tuggeranong, scoring a try as well as enjoying a solid afternoon with the boot.
The Sharks prepare for a Grand Final rematch in Round Three against the West Belconnen Warriors, whilst the Bushrangers take on the Gungahlin Bulls
West Belconnen Warriors 22 def. Woden Valley Rams 16
West Belconnen completed an undefeated start to the season, narrowly defeating the Woden Valley Rams 22-16 on Sunday Morning.
Mayah Amosa had a strong showing in the centres, crossing the line for two tries on the way to victory.
Despite the loss, the Rams will take a lot of confidence out of their first showing for the year, coming within a try of the reigning premiers.
The Warriors prepare to face their cross-town rivals in a Grand Final rematch next Round, whilst the Rams will look to bounce back against the Magpies at home.
The KFS sides will enjoy the weekend off and return to play after the ANZAC Round bye.
